Vernon Washington

Vernon Washington (August 10, 1927 in Hartford, Connecticut, USA – June 7, 1988 in California) is an African-American actor who has starred in film and on television. He is best known for his roles in the 1984 science fiction movie The Last Starfighter as Otis and in the 1985 horror movie Friday the 13th: A New Beginning as George.
His best known television role is in the 1979 miniseries Roots: The Next Generations as Rev. Mills. Vernon has had a small recurring role on the CBS hit series The Jeffersons as Leroy.
