Vernon Hill

Vernon Hill II (born circa 1946) is the chairman and founder of Commerce Bancorp and Commerce Bank of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Hill also owns several Burger King franchises and is a partner in Interstate Commercial, formerly Site Development Inc. and several other holding and development enterprises. He earned his MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia.

Vernon Hill suffers from a mild stutter, but has overcome this disability to a large degree.

In 2005, Vernon and his wife Shirley Hill donated $10 million dollars for a new veterinary building at the University of Pennsylvania, his alma mater. His brother Robert Hill also attended University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School. In 2000, Hill built his multi-million dollar mansion at Money Magazine's 2005 'Best Place to Live in the U.S.' Moorestown, New Jersey, naming the home 'Villa Collina.' He resides there with wife Shirley Hill, owner of the InterArch design firm, 1 of his 4 children, and their dog Sir Duffy. His brother, Robert Hill, also a partner in Interstate Commercial, and alumni of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, also resides in Moorestown with his wife and 3 children.

His youngest brother James Hill founded SportHill Inc., a leading sport apparel company, in 1985.
