Verghereto is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Forlì-Cesena in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 90 km southeast of Bologna and about 50 km south of Forlì. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,017 and an area of 117.8 km2.[1]

The municipality of Verghereto contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Alfero, Balze, Capanna, Castellane, Castelpriore, Ceregiacoli, Colorio, Corneto, Donicilio, Falera, La Strada, Mazzi, Montecoronaro, Montione, Nasseto, Para, Pastorale, Pereto, Piantrebbio, Renicci, Riofreddo, Ronco dell'Asino, S. Alessio, Tavolicci, Trappola, Velle, Villa di Corneto, and Ville di Montecoronaro.

Verghereto borders the following municipalities: Badia Tedalda, Bagno di Romagna, Casteldelci, Chiusi della Verna, Pieve Santo Stefano, Sant'Agata Feltria, Sarsina.
