Verde Island

Verde Island sits in the Verde Island Passage near Calapan, Mindoro and Batangas, Luzon in The Philippines.
There is a small population on the island (pop=?).
The Verde Island Drop Off is a famous dive site and is frequently visited by divers from Batangas and Puerto Galera.
A number of years back (1988?) a small village was created by a European(?) project using energy technologies like solar panels etc for self-sufficency etc.
The Dona Paz was sunk near here in 1987.
