[edit] Copyright / Thousand Years of Oppression

I understand why a Metal fan would like to remove that part. It just fits to well into the cliché that some people have of the music. I tried to take that into account, saying that they not don't need to be taken seriously, the same way Marilyn Manson and Slipknot should not be taken to seriously. I was going to improve that part, to remove that (original research?)-tag.

Concerning copyright I was under the assumption that:

"Small portions [of Lyrics] can be quoted under fair use. You can even put the entire text in if it's interspersed with analysis as far as US copyright law is concerned [...]" User:Lunkwill 06:58, 27 August 2005 (UTC), see Wikipedia talk:Copyrights/Archive 5

,if that is incorrect please let me know. -Zara1709 14:19, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thousand Years of Oppression lyrics interpretation POV

Your interpretation of the lyrics are POV as music is a highly artistic media often coated with metaphores and similar, if you can give a reference of an official statement from the band or the songwriter confirming you interpretation. Beyond that, your comparison with Varg Vikernes is just irrelevant and implies that the band is just as 'bad' as him although harmless. Such a notion is tasteless and very much POV. Consider som rewriting to remove POV and the modified text can be on the article, perhaps something along the lines of "The song can be interpreted as having an anti-christian message..." and perhaps a link to Christianization of Scandinavia as a read-more-reference. -ramz- 03:15, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Your argument is the very same reason that I did just not link the lyrics from one germanic neopagans directly. I know that metal lyrics need not be taken at face value, and one should better point that out.
I was trying to take into account 'metaphors and similar'. The only reason I had not yet rewritten that section was that I needed to think of a way so that it would not be misunderstood as original research. I would have corrected that link to Varg, too. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zara1709 (talkcontribs) 03:42, 20 March 2007 (UTC). -Zara1709 03:42, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
