Because the school is located on what used to be the Nike Missle Silo, the VHHS students nearly became the Rockets. is this statement accurate? as a member of the first graduating class, and a student who voted in a student poll for the new mascot i don't remeber 'rockets' as a choice. avengers, huskies, and hurricanes however were. the avenger was an old avenger? fighter plane. the poll also asked for school colors, red and gold, purple and another color were two other choices that didn't win.
