It seems a little odd to BEGIN the article with an account of operations in a country where Connex no longer operates, then shunt all the information on where the company DOES operate under the heading "Other countries". Talk about UK-centric!!

I know, I know. The solution is in my hands... -- Picapica 16:01, 25 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Split article?

In view of the fact that other defunct train operators in the UK have their own articles (e.g. Arriva Trains Northern, First Great Eastern), it might be a good idea to create new articles for Connex South Eastern and Connex South Central. Our Phellap 21:43, 7 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Local Articles Req'd

progressing with local article creation... any more info we have about local operations would be helpful.Jackk 06:47, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

I used to drive for Connex TCT in Raleigh, NC. They are contracted by NC State University to operate their campus transit. http://www.ncsu.edu/wolfline Suamme1 16:37, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Just added an article on Connex Auckland, the New Zealand operations. James Pole 06:50, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Veolia

I don't know about other countries but in Australia Connex is changing to Veolia. I saw the change on the buses themselves. A search of the ASIC website reveals the companies have all changed names, bar one. Dankru 14:00, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

Connex is no more. All operations are assuming the parent company name, Veolia Trans(it/portation/etc) -bg 02:30, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

note: connex name is still retained in the Melbourne transport system, all other regions have changed to Veolia

[edit] Performance Information

In Victoria at least there are publicly available performance statistics each month. I think it would be valuable to show the performance of our train system here compared to before connex took over (not good). I'll try get in contact with the Transport and Infrastructure Dept next week because I sure as hell can't find the information on their site. FlameHead 17:52, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Back doors

Veolia Brisbane: Might be interesting to note these services (all) aren't actually allowed to use the back doors on their buses!!!

No, it isn't really all that interesting as it has become widespread throughout Australia. The back doors are provided by manufacturers and if bus companies choose to use a conductor then they will also use the back door. The problem is the drivers don't have good enough visability of the back door area of the bus (interior and exterior).Garrie 00:03, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

It certainly isn't widespread here in melbourne... 131.170.90.3 18:10, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Direction of redirect

Currently, Veolia Transport redirects here. But reading each section it seems it should now be the other way around.

Any contrary views? Connex is stated as a brand name but the company name is Veolia. Garrie 00:07, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

This article should change name to Veoila Transport since the company has stoped using the Connex brand name. Arsenikk 13:22, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Melbourne Braking Issues

After the significant coverage regarding Connex and its current braking issues in Melbourne, it would seem a logical thing to add this to the article. I have made a start on it, although it would be appropriate to add some more references other than the Fairfax network. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 155.143.255.62 (talk) 12:54, 4 February 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Possibly helpful material

An IP editor has recently overwritten Veolia Verkehr with a (quite poor, sadly) translation of the French article on Veolia Transportation. The original Veolia Verkehr article has since been restored, but I believe the material now saved at Talk:Veolia Verkehr/French might be helpful for someone working on this article, as it is very exhaustive (but needs a serious check on grammar and spelling). --doco () 12:36, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] NB

The (Latin based) abbreviation NB (nota bene: note well) should be avoided. I know what it means, from a math teacher in high school, and I use it, but many people aren't familiar with it. RJFJR 16:58, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
