Location of Venaus in Italy

Venaus is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 50 km west of Turin, on the border with France. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 968 and an area of 19.8 km2.[1]

The municipality of Venaus contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Bar Cenisio and Molaretto.

Venaus borders the following municipalities: Bramans (France), Giaglione, Lanslebourg-Mont-Cenis (France), Mompantero, Moncenisio, and Novalesa.
