Talk:Venezuelan War of Independence
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Article's name
In the spanish wiki we are using the more conventional use for Venezuelan War of Independence (see es:Independencia de Venezuela), that goes since 1810 until 1830 (or maybe 1824, with the victory of the republican army). The interwiki is then setted from this page to that of independence. In the english wiki there's not such a page, the closest is Bolivar's War, but it also includes other independence processes. Maybe a new article is needed. --Jdiazch 14:43, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Accuracy
As I am by no means an expert on this and I could have misunderstood but certain points in this article seem to contradict the one on Bolívar's War, in particular the time around 1811 and 1812. In this article it sounds like a bloodless truce has been reached and Bolívar has received an official post in the Venezuelan army and shopped Miranda to the Spanish, whereas in the other article it seems that he had by this time fled after Miranda was defeated by the Spanish and captured. It would be good if someone with far better knowledge than me could clarify this as I think these are really important events in history. Cameronlad 10:05, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
