VELUX is the trade name of a Danish company group as well as of a registered trademark.

The VELUX Group specialises in making roof windows, skylights and additionals to these products (i.e. domotics with rain sensors).

The VELUX trademark is the property of VKR Holding A/S - the owner of the VELUX Group - and only companies within the VELUX Group or others with special permission or authorizations are licenced to use the VELUX trademark. The company was founded in 1941 by Villum Kann Rasmussen and is present in some 40 countries, including nearly all markets north of 30° north and south of 30° south.

The VELUX name is derived from two words Ventilation and Lux, the Latin word for "light".
