The Vektor SS-77 is a machine gun designed by the Vektor Arms company in South Africa.

[edit] History

The design started in 1977 as a replacement for FN MAG, hence the "77" in the name, the "SS" being the initials of the designers. At the time South Africa was involved in its Border War while being subject to an international arms embargo and as result had to design and manufacture its own weapons.
