Veikka did not reach the summit of Broad Peak with Ed Viesturs in 1997, only a lower sub-peak. Ed Viesturs later returned to the mountain and reached the true summit to make his 14-list honest and complete. Often Veikka is still credited with this 1997 Broad peak climb, but it is false and he will have to return to the mountain to truly summit it.
