Vegas is the first album released by the electronic music duo The Crystal Method.

The vocals are done by Trixie Reiss.

All writing is by Scott Kirkland and Ken Jordan, except "Comin' Back" and "Jaded", which were also written with Trixie Reiss.

"Busy Child" features portions of "Juice (Know the Ledge)" by Eric B. & Rakim, "Trip Like I Do" features samples from the Jim Henson film, The Dark Crystal. Also, the female vocals heard throughout the song were taken from an answering machine message that Scott Kirkland had received from a woman he met in a club. "Keep Hope Alive" contains elements from a speech by Jesse Jackson. "Bad Stone" features samples from two Bill Cosby stand-up routines, "Tonsils" and "Chicken Heart", which were both from his Wonderfulness album. "Busy Child" was on the soundtrack of Lost in Space and Gone in Sixty Seconds. "Keep Hope Alive" was featured in the film The Replacement Killers and is used as the title theme for Third Watch. Several songs off the album were used in the game FIFA '98: Road to World Cup and the soundtrack to the game N2O: Nitrous Oxide, as well as some original songs and the track "Now Is the Time", which can be found on the UK version of the Vegas album. Also, on the Chef Aid album for South Park, a re-working of the song "Vapor Trail" is featured, including vocals from DMX, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Ozzy Osbourne, and Fuzzbubble. The song has been renamed "Nowhere to Run", or sometimes "Nowhere to Run (Vapor Trail)". Most recently, the song "High Roller" has been used in some Victoria's Secret ads and Donkey Konga 2.

The short hidden gap after the track "High Roller" is a repetition of the start of the Massive Attack track "Hymn of the Big Wheel".

Most of the tracks on Vegas features complex usage of sound filtering, and also rely heavily on subtle effects. Vegas in particular is unique to other albums from The Crystal Method due to the fact that the overall sound give the impression of being more "handcrafted".
