VEF I-19
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The VEF I-19 was a Latvian fighter aircraft project by Karlis Irbitis, based on the earlier I-16. It was never built, because of the Soviet occupation in June 1940.
It is sometimes claimed that the Soviet Lavochkin La-5 fighter was based on the I-19 project.
