This place is near to salem at 14 kilometres now a days main college area in salem namely vinayaga missions deemed university near to veerapandi.The main festival as marriyaman kovil,angalamman kovil,etc..The mainly textiles,agriculture,and finance are common bussiness in that area.At the month of april marriyaman festival celebrated by the people very grandly and traditionally.
