Veľké Slemence

Veľké Slemence is a village and municipality in Michalovce District in the Kosice Region of eastern Slovakia. There was a village named Slemence before 1945, in 1945 it was divided - Veľké Slemence is now a part of Slovakia and Malé Slemence is a part of Ukraine.

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1332.

The village lies at an altitude of 106 metres and covers an area of 9.972 km². The municipality has a population of about 600 people.
