I do not think these links bring anything new or especially enlightening to the articles. E.g. Donald Knuth has a photo in his article and if some person doesn't it would be better to add it here instead of linking to external site. Pavel Vozenilek 17:22, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

I second that. Please do not add more external links before getting a consensus (see external links). Rl 10:47, 16 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] rv addition of external link

In your case, I intentionally wrote an edit summary "rv addition of external link" instead of the more common "rv link spam". I am not accusing you of adding link spam. However, I urge you to read the link I provided above, specifically the part that reads "The mass adding of links to any website is also strongly discouraged, and any such operation should be raised at the Village Pump or other such page and approved by the community before going ahead. Persistently linking to one's own site is considered Vandalism and can result in sanctions.". We have a considerable problem with people adding lots of external links, and many editors spend a lot of time removing them again. Please do not waste both our time. If you really want to add those links, try to get a consensus at the village pump as recommended by Wikipedia policy. Thanks. Rl 19:44, 16 August 2005 (UTC)

Ok. I've understood. Thank you for your answer. Vdgr
Thank you for your understanding, and for your well-meant work. I hope you will stay with us and find a better way to contribute. Good luck! Rl 20:10, 16 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Krasner.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Krasner.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
