The Vazhdushnite na Negovo Velichestvo Voyski (VNVV) (Royal Bulgarian Air Force) was the Air Section of Royal Bulgarian Armed forces in WWII.your orders was protect your national soil against enemy strikes and support land forces in combat fronts.during wartimes such unit was figthing joining Axis Powers in Balkans area (Yugoslavia and Greece) against enemy partisans unde led of Luftwaffe, and provided air protection to Axis Convoys in Aegean and Black Seas,alonside of Italian forces.
The Bulgarian Air Force,was figthing against USAAF during raids against Ploesti debt why these bomber formations pass over Bulgarian territoire and realizing some bombing missions in area also.
The symbols of Bulgarian A.F. was a Orange-white-Red paint in vertical aileron in tail,and orange borded white roundel with two crossed swords red-orange cross amongst circle with rampant lion in center;later changed at white square with black "X" sign" inside and white-green-red orange paint in tail stablizer joining identification number in white.
These unit was provided by Germans and Italians with some own manufacture and foreing aircraft for defense,training and testing uses
when Russians invaded the country and signed the armistice,Bulgarian A.F.support some Soviet offensives in Balkans in aiding to Tito partisans against Axis Powers units in area.such unit was served how base to organized the new Bulgarian Air Force.before at Russian invasion some units enter to Luftwaffe volunteer unit service
