Talk:Vaudois

"But this theory that Peter was the originator of the Waldensians is turned on its head as the oldest Waldensian manuscript is dated around 1020 AD."

The claim that "the oldest Waldensian manuscript" is dated around 1020 AD, i.e. that the Waldensians were not founded by Valdes in Lyon around 1170, is disputed - even in this article, which says that the Waldensians appeared in the late 12th Century. As this is an important point, the manuscript should at least be given proper references (manuscript foo in the national library of somewhere) and description. Or is "1020" a typo, that the year really meant is "1200"?

[edit] The name

Where does this word Vaudoir come from? What language is it? Andrew Dalby 17:56, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

It is completely wrong - it should be Vaudois so I requested a page move. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gustav von Humpelschmumpel (talkcontribs) 01:14, 1 April 2007 (UTC).
