Vatan ("Homeland" or "Motherland") is a Turkish daily newspaper.
A new newspaper in Turkey, it is increasingly becoming one of the most popular. Praised for its balanced journalism, it has published articles on the Kurdish issue, the Islamic parties of Turkey, and the ultra-nationalist MHP (a far-right party).
It has also been praised for its attention to education, and it often gives away free books such as English learning books and once a commentary (Tafsir) on the Qur'an by one of its columists, Süleyman Ateş.
