Vassallo-Paleologo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vassallo-Paleologo is a family that stemmed from Milian during the Crusades and eventually settled at the Byzantine court. From the 12th century until the fall of the Byzantine Empire, they served each Emperor, who confirmed each as Counts of the Empire. After the fall of the Empire, the family slowly moved from Lesbos to Sicily, where they settled.
