Vasil Iljoski

Vasil Iljoski (Macedonian: Васил Илјоски) (1902-1995) is an important figure in the Macedonian literature and especially in Macedonian drama between the two World Wars. He was born in Krushevo in 1902. His play Lence Kumanovce (Fugitive) performed in 1928 in the Skopje theater is considered the first play written in the Macedonian language. Other significant plays written by Iljoski are: Uchenickata Avantura (Student Adventure), Chest (Honor), Kuzman Kapidan, Mladi Sinovi (Young Sons) and other.
