Vasant Valley School

Vasant Valley School is an English medium co-ed school in Vasant Kunj, Delhi, India. It operates on the day-boarding (M-F 7:30am - 3pm) system. Opened in the mid 90's by the India Today group under the Education Today department, its first batch graduated in 1999. The school is run in accordance with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and teaches grades foundation, nursery and 1 through 12. It currently maintains a 90-student batch per year. It is considered to be one of the elite schools of Delhi.
This school has a state-of-the-art computer lab, 2 libraries with an extensive collection of books, 5 fully equipped science laboratories, 2 soccer fields, 1 cricket pitch, 3 basketball courts, 2 tennis courts, 5 badminton courts, a squash court, and a children's playground with a small swimming pool for the children. It is the only school in Delhi which can boast of not one, but two amphitheatres where plays, dances, skits and musical performances are held regularly. It also has two projector equipped rooms for holding discussions.
It is divided into a junior and senior school. It has a highly trained and experienced faculty. Vasant Valley School focuses on an all round character development rather than just academic development. Many of its alumni are now studying at leading colleges and universities throughout the world.
The School boasts of being one of the only schools where every child is encouraged to perform his or her talents, be it through artwork, drama, or on the sports field. It gives regular awards to the students, and has a subject award system, in which every year, students who have surpassed benchmarks in a particular subject, be it Science, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Physical Education etc. Also, for those students who have surpassed all benchmarks in the whole year in all aspects receive the excellence award. This award is given to students in classes 5, 8, 10 & 12.
Being run by a weekly magazine, Vasant Valley also has a fortnightly newsletter, completely run by the students. This highlights the creativity of the students through the power of prose and poetry. Its current editor is Akansha Chawla, a student of class 12.
Vasant Valley is a school that believes in giving its students the freedom to make their own mistakes and learn from those mistakes. It is one of the few schools in Delhi at least that gives children the liberty to do so. The school motto is "Excellence In Deed". Each and every student who goes to this school is extremely proud to be a part of the small and close knit Vasant Valley family.
