Varsity Gymnasium is a 8,000 seat multi-purpose arena in Boone, North Carolina. It opened in 1968. It was home to the Appalachian State University Mountaineers basketball teams until the Holmes Center opened in 2000.

The gymnasium was dedicated December 7, 1968. The original cost of the 104,000 square foot facility was $2,000,000 USD. It boasted hydraulic stages, seven 172 foot supporting beams, physiological laboratories and 8 ticket gates.[1]
