Variations on "Ah vous dirais-je, Maman", K. 265 was written in 1781-82 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Vienna at the age of 25. This piece consists of twelve variations on the children's song "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."

This work was composed for solo piano and consists of 13 sections:

  1. Tema, which is the simple melody of Twinkle, Twinkle
  2. Variations I-XII, which transform the original melody in various ways.
