Varazze is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 30 km west of Genoa and about 11 km northeast of Savona. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 13,855 and an area of 48.0 km2.[1]
The municipality of Varazze contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Alpicella, Cantalupo, Casanova, Castagnabuona, Deserto, Faje, Invrea, and Pero.
Varazze borders the following municipalities: Celle Ligure, Cogoleto, Sassello, and Stella.
It was the birthplace of Jacobus de Voragine.
