Varandinha

Varandinha (also in the Capeverdean Crioulo forms of ALUPEC or ALUPEK and the São Vicente: Ponta d' Sol) is a point located in the west of the island of Boa Vista and it represents the island's westernmost point in Cape Verde. Distance is approximately 20 km south of the island capital of Sal Rei and approximately 5 km west of Povoação Velha with a remote road. The point features a lighthouse.

The point are surrounded by rocky ledges with beach sand. The area around the point are mountainous and hilly.

The point offers a view of the Atlantic Ocean as well as some parts of the northern and the northwestern portions of the island including the islet of Ilhéu de Sal-Rei. It rarely offers a view of the nearby island of Maio to the southwest.
