I am from Aotearoa (better known as New Zealand), and most of my edits probably reflect this. I generally work in the quieter areas of Wikipedia, and tend to avoid the more controversial articles. I also tend to focus on writing or expanding articles, rather than being active in the community. This is not a reflection of any unwillingness to engage — rather, it is simply a reflection of the limits on my time.

My long-term focus here at Wikipedia is probably politics, although I dislike becoming involved in political debate. In the past, I have had a particular focus on the politics of my country, both modern and historical. I should note, perhaps, that I prefer not to disclose my personal views on politics — by keeping this information to myself, my edits can be judged on their merit (or lack thereof), rather than on someone's perception of me. If anyone is able to gather and present evidence of my political beliefs from my edits, I will have failed to achieve my goal of neutrality. Other aspects of politics which I have an interest in are diplomacy, espionage, democratization, and the political participation of women and minorities.

On occasion, I will work on other things. I have, in the past, given a certain amount of attention to the Provinces of Vietnam, and started the WikiProject dealing with them. When some other topic catches my interest, I will sometimes leave my normal routine, but there is no particular pattern to this.

I have also made a number of GFDL maps for Wikipedia, which I hope may be useful for anyone needing a map template for their projects. The blank maps which I made (and which used to be found on this page) are now accessable, along with others, from the Wikipedia:Blank maps page.

I sometimes like to pretend that my mediocre knowledge of Chinese and Maori qualifies me as a speaker of those languages — I therefore have accounts at the Chinese and Maori versions of Wikipedia, and hope to gradually expand my activities there. (My Latin and French, learned in high school, have decayed to the point where I can no longer even pretend to speak them.)
