Vanyda (27) is a comic creator from Lille (France). She's part of the french comics new wave or La nouvelle manga. She was nominee in 2005 at the Angoulême International Comics Festival for her first album the building opposite ('l'immeuble d'en face') . In the US, the 'building opposite' was ranked 'manga of the year 2006' by the Publisher's Weekly.

Born 1979, she created her first comic at the age of 6. She graduated from the Beaux Arts in Tournai (Belgium).

Vanyda has always been interested in social relations. Her first inspiration comes from observing life and she studies human relations and reactions very carefuly.
