Vankarem is one of the most eastern towns in eastern Russiain the Arctic Circle on the coast of the Chukchi Sea. It is largely inhabited by indigenous Chukchi and Siberian Yupik people. It is a town that preserves the region’s ancient coastal hunting and fishing cultures.
