Vane anemometer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A vane anemometer is a type of anemometer, a meteorological instrument used measure wind speed. The vane anemometer can also measure wind direction.
A vane anemometer which uses a small fan is turned by air flowing over the vanes. The speed of the fan is measured by a rev counter and converted to a windspeed by an electronic chip. Hence, volumetric flowrate may be calculated if the cross-sectional area is known.
