Van der Moolen

Van der Moolen is a Dutch equity trading firm, with its headquarters located in Amsterdam. They are mainly active in the United States and in Europe, particularly in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

On the New York Stock Exchange, Van der Moolen serves as specialist. In 2003, Van der Moolen became subject to an investigation by the SEC on allegations of front running. In 2004, Van der Moolen reached a settlement with the SEC and paid a fine of $57.7 million. Some employees have been convicted of fraud. [1]

On August 1, 2006, a former trader with Van der Moolen, Robert Scavone Jr., was acquitted of charges of front running public orders in Eli Lilly and Company. The jury deliberated only 45 minutes before reaching this verdict.

Van der Moolen shares are listed on the Euronext Amsterdam exchange and is part of the AMX index.
