Van Halen - Live Without a Net
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Live concert video of Van Halen recorded in New Haven, CT in 1986, and released the following year. "Live Without A Net" was of Van Halen performance on August 27th 1986 at New Haven's Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The 90-minute release removed two songs from the performance. While the band attempted to record the previous night, audio problems prevent it from being used, although some video footage from that night would later surface in music videos. The concerts were part of the 5150 tour, Van Halen's first with lead singer Sammy Hagar.
The set list from video is as follows.
1. There's Only One Way To Rock
2. Summer Nights
3. Get Up
4. Drum Solo
5. "5150"
6. Best Of Both Worlds
7. Bass Solo
8. Panama
9. Love Walks In
10. Guitar Solo
11. I Can't Drive 55
12. Ain't Talking 'Bout Love
13. Why Can't This Be Love
14. Rock 'N' Roll
The concert film changed the order in which the songs were played, as well as removed two songs ("Good Enough" and "Wild Thing") from the show. Other edits to the show were made, such as editing Eddie Van Halen's guitar solo slightly and cutting brief moments elsewhere from the night.
Originally released on VHS and Laserdisc, "Live Without A Net" was re-released on DVD in 2004 with both Stereo and Surround Sound mixes.
