- I suppose it's because that's the official name of the company, kinda like Coca-Cola is under The Coca-Cola Company. The Kids Aren't Alright 20:35, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

I'm curious when they went from being hand-made in Orange County to factory made in China. I remember custom ordering them with crazy color combinations in the 70s and 80s. Tough shoes but not so much anymore. We used to call the original lace up lotops Van Dorens and the other styes were Vans.
