I know Vana'diel is where FFXI takes place, but I'm not sure I heard the term in Vagrant Story. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 23:25, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

I think they may be getting mixed up with the term Valendia Kingdom --Vanguard 19:08, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Merge?

I think this should be merged with Final Fantasy XI. The only problem is that it is the only location in Final Fantasy XI. Deckiller 03:48, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

  • Surely this article can be expanded to include details about the various FFXI locations. Perhaps I'll start a short list; Chanlord 01:03, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Ah ok, cool. Deckiller 01:09, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
  • In fact, I'll start working on doing that. Chanlord 01:52, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

I tried to fix up the spacing a bit, becuase it seemed a little awkward. This page is starting to look fantastic. Deckiller 03:34, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. Wasn't sure how to space it. More text it needed in the headed though and of course all the regions. I am thinking that we don't need seperate headings for each of the zones. They can just be talked about and listen in their respective regions. Otherwise too many headings Chanlord 03:57, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Minor things to watch out for

Make sure that the article conforms to the gaming issues addressed in WP:NOT and Wikipedia:Fancruft; get this article to a status reflecting those policies/guidelines, and I'd be more than happy to flag this as a GA. Deckiller 01:00, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

It's still a work in progess. I'm planning to change the format sometime in the future to better reflect how fictional universes and worlds should be setting out (History etc) -- CHANLORD [T]/[C] 01:05, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Valdeaunia

This section seems to be written with an unencyclopedic tone. Deckiller 00:10, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Purgonorgo Isle

I'm quite positive this isn't a mini-version of itself (hence why the G.O. has "Diorama" in the title). If you check the Region Info, it will actually list you as being somewhere in the same region as Tavnazia, but no particular region is highlighted (or blinks).

  • If I remember right, the Dioramas are in the Tavnazian Archipelago canon-wise, so that makes sense... --Steelesaber 20:17, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Context tag

I've asked EdJones for some more details about why he added the context tag to this page, so we can try to answer his concerns and change the page accordingly, if necessary. -RaCha'ar 22:29, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

For the uninitiated the opening is very off-putting, what is MMORPG? You should explain what Final Fantasy is (briefly, the truly interested can see the article on it). Really just more background on everything would be good. EdJones 01:38, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure how to satisfy your request. It's nearly impossible to briefly summarize either FFXI or the entirety of the FF series. I have replaced the text of the wikilink for MMORPG with what it stands for, but I can't see any other way to expand the article in a way that will satisfy you. The wikilinks to MMORPG and Final Fantasy XI are there to provide context. If you look at the articles for Kalimdor or Britannia (Ultima), both of which refer to fictional worlds that are the settings for MMORPGs, you'll see that this is pretty much the format followed for articles about those kinds of places. If you have a more specific idea for information you'd like to see included, then please let us know, but as it stands I'm afraid I really don't see how to expand the article for context without too much bloat. -RaCha'ar 05:22, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Needs cleaning

There's some good info in this article, but I have to say, it's pretty badly organised. There are several inconsistencies, and I can't see anyone who has yet to reach some of these areas gaining anything from the descriptions listed. On top of all that, there's some points made that are simply incorrect (as an example, someone incorrectly named Kuzotz an island, when the FFXI website clearly denotes it as a collection of several small islands).DezSP 21:38, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

One thing: please be careful of looking at these articles while thinking things like "I can't see anyone who has yet to reach these areas..." Wikipedia is not a game guide and these articles are not written for people who play the game. The articles are written with a neutral audience in mind; anything else belongs at FFXIclopedia or Killing Ifrit or elsewhere. An excess of information is not a good thing for video game articles. So with that in mind, what do you suggest? Also, if you see inconsistencies or incorrect information, I invite you be bold and make any changes you think are necessary yourself. :) -RaCha'ar 21:48, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
