The Vampires MC is a motorcycle club based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The club is a non-profit mutual-benefit corporation, incorporated under the laws of the state of California. The purpose of the club is to promote motorbiking and scootering for its members' amusement.

The Vampires hold a number of events every year for the motorcycle community at large including rides, contests and parties. Members do their best attend other events in other cities, particularly those of other respected clubs and organizations. Vampires MC have been represented at rallies in several countries on several continents.

1950s Vampires Patch

The Vampires Motorcycle Club originated in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 1950s. Many motorcycle clubs took the names of monsters and images from horror fiction popular at the time. The Vampires grew quite large and spread through the region.

The club disbanded in the 60s, but Vampire history remained alive and well in the local motorcycle scene. Vampires MC was re-started in the early 1990s by the combined forces of a group of local cycle riders and scooterists. The riders found the long standing Vampires tradition to be of interest and suited their ride-by-night lifestyle.

Annoyed by the posing scene many motorcycle clubs offer, the men and women who make up the Vampires today have joined for a love of motorcycling rather than an image. The Vampires do not ride any one type of motorcycle and do not live any one type of lifestyle. The one defining feature of a Vampires MC member is a love of two wheels and motorcycling.

Currently, the Vampires MC has chapters in Santa Cruz and San Francisco, California.

The Santa Cruz Vampires meet on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30pm at Caffe Pergolesi at 418 Cedar Street in Santa Cruz, California.

The San Francisco Vampires meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:15pm at Java on Ocean at 1700 Ocean Avenue in San Francisco, California.

Vampires MC monthly meetings are open to the public, save a brief members-only portion at the end of each meeting. Those interested in the club are encouraged to attend meetings and events to meet the members.
