Vambel

VŠ°mbel was a small village on the north - west part of Greece (former Aegean Macedonia) near Greek-Albanian border, about 50 kilometars west from city of Kostur. It was heavily destroyed in the Greek civil war (1946-1949). Its population in the beginning of 20-th century was about 706 citizens and 113 houses with Macedonian settlements. After the war most of its citizens refuge in the Republic of Macedonia and Slav speaking countries (Russia, Poland, Chechoslovakia, Yugoslavia)
