Valuyki

Valuyki (Russian: Валуйки) is a town in Belgorod Oblast, Russia, situated on the Valuy River some 225 km east of Belgorod. Population: 35,800 (2005 est.); 35,790 (2002 Census); 27,000 (1969).

Valuyki was founded in 1593 as a fortress for protection against the Tatar raids.
