Valley View Memorial Park

Valley View Memorial Park is a large memorial park in West Valley City, Utah the second largest city in Utah. It is the only cemetery in West Valley. It was established in 1954 by the Winder family which also owns a famous dairy, founded in 1880, next to the cemetery. The Winder family also have a street named after them at the entrance of the cemetery. This street is where they currently reside. The cemetery is 25 acres and as of September 2004 there have been 7,463 burials in the cemetery. There are 20,000 burial plots in the cemetery. The cemetery also serves the residents of nearby Magna as a burial ground. The cemetery is located at 4330 West 4100 South in West Valley. A mausoleum was built recently near the mortuary there. The cemetery and mortuary are separated by A street, Winder Lane. There is also a candlelight vigil every Christmas where a candle is placed on every headstone in the cemetery.
