Valley Stream Central High School District

The Valley Stream Central High School District consists of the following schools:
- Valley Stream North High School
- Valley Stream Central High School
- Valley Stream South High School
- Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School
It is one of only three districts in New York State covering grades 7-12. The District covers most of the Villages of Valley Stream and most of North Valley Stream as well as parts of Elmont, Franklin Square, Lynbrook and Malverne. Approximately 4,500 students are enrolled in grades 7 through 12. There is a nine member Board of Education which is composed of three appointees from each of the Elementary District Boards. [1]

On December 3, 2006, Newsday reported that of 4,566 students, 55.5% are white, 16.3% are black 16.3% are hispanic and 12.0% are "other." [2]
