Vallarpadam

Vallarpadam is one of the islands that make up the city of Kochi, Kerala, India. It is situated in the Vembanad lake, and is connected to the mainland Ernakulam via the Goshree bridges. It has a population of over 10,000. An international container transshipment terminal, is under construction at Vallarpadam. The vallarpadam is connected by mainly two bridges towards main city Ernakulam and Vypin, the 70% of vallarpadam island consist of paddy field, economy comes from fish catching by traditional methods and agriculture rice.
