While receiving a driving lesson from Dawson and Pacey, Joey think the boys have lost it when they invite her to a party being thrown by a popular student at school, Matt Caufield. Andie invites Jack’s ex-girlfriend, Kate (who is visiting town) to the party; she has just broken up with her current boyfriend because he was gay, but does not know that Jack has recently come out.

In order to impress her, Henry sells his plasma to get money for a date with Jen. They pair have dinner at a fancy Capeside restaurant where Henry passes out. As he’s being taken to the hospital in an ambulance, Henry presents Jen with a Hungarian Red Pinky ring.

Deputy Doug Witter, Pacey’s brother, busts the party and Dawson, Pacey, Joey, Jen, Jack, Andie and Kate end up in the drunk tank at the police station. Mitch comes to the rescue and bails everyone out. However, Doug says their father, the sheriff, wants Pacey to stay the night. Pacey confesses to Doug that he’s in love.
