Valasaravakkam is a town in Thiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Hanuman Temple is a notable landmark here. It is a residential area with ample water supply, schools and colleges.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Valasaravakkam had a population of 30,265. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Valasaravakkam has an average literacy rate of 89%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 90%, and female literacy is 87%. In Valasaravakkam, 8% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Valasaravakkam is now part of the Chennai City. It has good schools like La Chateline and Velankanni Matriculation schools. The other well known schools are : The Devi Academy and Holy Cross School.Real estate in Valasaravakkam is appreciating very high in the recent years and is closeby to all major shopping locations and IT companies in Chennai. Valasaravakkam is also home to the Lasersoft Company, a prominent software company.In the year 1998,the Venkateswara temple was consecrecated and has become a land mark.The area is also home to prominent film personalites such G.K ( art director ) and Mano ( playback singer ).Recently the area has undergone tremendous development, with good hospitals such as Surya hospital and Foodworld setting up shop here.Recently the area completed an ambitious underground sewerage system.
Recently Reliance Fresh has also opened their branch here.All major banks like Indian Bank, Canara Bank, IOB, BOB, LVB, KVB,Corporation bank, HDFC and ICICIwith their ATMs are available here.The Velveeswarar Shivan temple is also very famous here.It comes under the Villiwakam constituency.
