[edit] Oh no.

Let's not turn this into another Jorge Larrionda, okay? The guy gave out a lot of cards, but for the love of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, let's keep this NPOV.-Bkessler23 20:56, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

I'd say lock this for a short time.

[edit] Oh, come on.

There's absolutely no justification for vulgar edits. I'm not especially happy with the guy either, but calling him four letter words is just tacky. --Dead men's bells 21:18, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] POV

This article has become too POV. While I know little about Valentin Ivanov, it seems unlikely that a referee that did everything wrong in his career (as suggested by the article) would be drafted for the FIFA world cup. The article simply can't just rant about Ivanov's weaknesses.

On the upside, even a POV article is a start. Hope it will be expanded into a fair and balanced biography of Valentin Ivanov. JSTR 04:06, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

I agree, it's at least a start. And certainly the wikipedia entry is much larger now than it was yesterday, so at least there's some ground to start on. Larrionda's page went through the same thing - a lot of POV and vandalism early on, but then some of the veteran users (i.e., not me) were able to turn it into a legitimate entry. --Bkessler23 04:16, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
An article that reports primarily on the match controversy is not necessarily POV, as long as the events are stated in a non-biased manner. Realistically, a great deal of his notability is now composed of the match controversy. mhunter 06:33, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
