[edit] Guide to: Valentine's Day

It’s Valentine’s Day, and as every year, Martin Qwerly’s selling roses, and of course, Ned plans to send one to Suzie, with a super sappy love note attached. Also as usual, the Huge Crew are on their annual ‘we never get a card or a rose’ massacre, and Coconut Head feels the most of their subject. Plus, as per usual, the boy and girl who get the most roses instantly become the hottest people in the school (last year it was Doug and Missy). Except this year, Cookie tells Moze, he’s going to get the most roses. How? He’s going to send a load to himself, anonymously! However, Moze warns him that there’s no way she’s going to jump to his rescue, when it all goes horribly wrong.

At lunch, Ned is writing his super-sappy card to Suzie, when Moze tells him that he should do something about The Crew’s rampage, and should send them an anonymous card. Ned starts to write the card, but due to Martin entering the lunchroom, he frantically stuffs the Huge Crew’s and Suzie cards into envelopes, addresses them, and gives them to Martin. Cookie’s plan works, and he receives the most roses. Almost instantly, all of Doug’s fans run to Cookie and become his new admirers. At the same time, Moze receives thirty-one roses, more than even Missy, and instantly becomes the hottest girl in school. She then gets chased by a group of love-sick boys, desperate to be with her.

Next, Ned asks Suzie what she thought of his rose note. But he soon finds out that he accidentally sent Suzie that card intentioned for The Huge Crew. This means The Crew got the sappy one! Soon after, Ned gets talking to Coconut Head, and finds out that he has a crush on The Crew. Ned has an idea. Next, Cookie is confronted by Doug, and he asks Cookie who sent him all the roses. None of Cookie’s admirers (except for Lisa) admit to sending him a rose or a card, leaving Cookie looking a fool. Until, at the last moment, Moze steps in, and claims that she sent all the roses to Cookie. Remembering her predicament, she claims Cookie sent her roses, restoring Doug and Missy as the hottest people in school.

Finally, Ned has to solve his problem. He organises The Crew to meet him in Gordy’s closet for ‘Seven Minutes in Heaven’. Sure enough, The Huge Crew look pretty happy after the seven minutes, but they don’t seem to have touched Ned at all. All is explained when Coconut Head stumbles out of the closet, and says, ‘It’s pretty hard to see who you’re kissing in the dark!’

[edit] Guide to: School Websites

Cookie and Ned have agreed to be in charge of re-designing Polk’s school website. Why? Because Mr. Kwest has promised them that if they do so, he’ll show them the never before seen by a student, Teacher’s Lounge! They get to work, enlisting Scoot and Seth to join their website committee and start a live web-cam in the school. Moze is trying to promote her team’s volleyball matches, but her advertisement on the new school website, frankly stinks. Scoot asks Moze to give him a day, and he’ll make volleyball the hottest ticket in town. She agrees.

The website re-launches, and all the school is more than happy with it. Except Mr. Sweeney, because Ned and Cookie have changed the access password to the website without telling him, so he can’t access his extra credit page. They informs Sweeney that the new password as ‘Halle Berry’. Later on they see that their web-cam, the Wolf cam, is now on the move, and it has been hijacked by the weasel! Next, Moze is taken aback when she hears that all the tickets to her volleyball game are sold out. She’s horrified to see Scoot’s ad on the website, which consists of her head on a swimsuit model’s body!

They try to take the ad off the side, but the ‘Halle Berry’ password won’t work. Seth claims to have changed the password to ‘Basketball’, but that doesn’t work either. Things get worse when the Weasel Cam films Mr. Sweeney picking his nose! Sweeney then tells them that if they don’t shut down the Cam in thirty minutes, they’ll be on detention for life! Gordy then tries to catch the weasel, and the Weasel Cam, but as usual his plan spectacularly fails. Finally, Scoot steps in and interrogates Seth about the password. He asks Seth why he changed it in the first place. Seth tells him that it was because he kept spelling ‘Halle’ with one ‘l’ instead of two.

Ned has a brainwave, and types ‘Basketbal’ into the computer. The password’s correct and they shut down the Weasel Cam and the volleyball ad with just seconds to spare.

[edit] Trivia

  • In Valentine’s Day, Coconut Head’s line, ‘when you’re me, you’ll take all the attention you can get’, is possibly at dig at Coconut Head’s far smaller role in Season 2
  • In the Valentine’s Day short, we never see Doug’s face. Similarly, in School Websites, we never actually see the mysterious staff room.
  • In School Websites, Scoot has replaced the sign reading ‘Press’ in his hat with one reading ‘Website’
  • In the School Websites short, Moze’s first poster has the tagline “You’ll like it when we spike it”. This was a line from her pep rally speech in Guide to: Pep Rallies and Lunch.
