Vahan Janjigian

Vahan Janjigian is V.P. & Executive Director of the Forbes Investors Advisory Institute, a subsidiary of Forbes Inc., publisher of Forbes magazine. He is the editor of the Forbes Growth Investor and Special Situation Survey investment newsletters. He is also the host of MoneyMasters, an Internet video program available on Forbes.com and iTunes, and the co-author and editor of the Forbes Stock Market Course.
Janjigian had a twelve-year academic career prior to joining Forbes. He served on the Finance faculties of several universities, including the University of Delaware, Northeastern University, the American University of Armenia, and Boston College. He primarily taught courses in corporate finance on the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Janjigian attended Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, Pennsylvania where he was a member of the record-setting two-mile relay team. He holds a B.S. General Program from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania. He earned an M.B.A. and a Ph.D. in Finance from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. While studying in Blacksburg, he was a top-ranked road runner in the southern Virginia region, setting several course records at distances of 5,000 and 10,000 meters.
He has written articles and research papers that have appeared in Forbes magazine, Forbes.com, and numerous academic journals such as the National Tax Journal, the Financial Analysts Journal and Financial Management.
Janjigian appears as a frequent guest on various business talk shows on television and radio, and his comments have been printed in a variety of newspapers and magazines. He sometimes serves as an expert witness on issues involving portfolio management, churning, suitability, and hedge-fund manager compensation. He is also a frequent speaker at various investment conferences and seminars.
