Travunia 21:33, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Minha página

Só coloquei algumas coisas...ainda não ajeitei direito minha página, depois eu vejo isso, quero organizar essas userboxes que estão meio zoneadas. Travunia 20:56, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "My" images tagged - fair use, etc

Hello! I'm still a bit confused with your concept of "fair use". Do you really think that uploading an image from a book (or worse, from a paper in a scientific journal) to wikipedia can cause any sort of damage to the copyright holder? Can you imagine the big trouble to try to contact every single copyright holder to grant use of a simple image in wikipedia? This way it's better to give up putting images. Which would render wikipedia much poorer. Vae victis 02:57, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

It doesn't matter what I think. It matters what the courts think. Using an image from a scientific or educational work without permission harms the author directly: by using the image, we deprive the author of money he should have recieved from selling the right to use it to us. It also harms the author indirectly: by using the image in a way that competes with the author's work containing the image, we deprive him of income from people who would otherwise have purchased his work.
You might also wish to read Wikipedia:Fair use, which outlines the very limited conditions under which images can be used on Wikipedia. Basically, your images violate policy points 1, 2, 6, and the quick test, and possibly point 3. --Carnildo 06:07, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Antares400.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Antares400.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Fair use

Hi! Sorry, I'm terribly late answering you. I also get annoyed because of all these copyright laws that are so complicated and strict. Unfortunately, any images on Wikipedia can be used by anyone, so if an image infringes a copyright law, it's a serious issue. I'd really like to help about these 50 year old images, but i'm afraid that as long as there's rule that's against their use, there isn't much we can do. If you have the time you might want to modify them so that they are no longer recognisable and put them up as "own work". Other than that, I don't think you can do much. Keep me posted if you upload any news pics, I'll see what I can do. But a law is a law, however stupid it may seem (dura lex, sed lex!). Take care, IronChris | (talk) 12:08, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent changes to Adriano da Gama Kury

Hello Vae Victis! Are you perhaps related to the subject of this article? While the article is interesting, it breaks many Wikipedia policies, and if someone were to question it, it is possible it might be nominated for deletion. (Not that I am questioning it, just puzzled). Now it seems that you have been adding jokes and biographical details that can't be verified from any published source. How can we improve this article so that it satisfies WP:V and will be immune to attacks from less sympathetic reviewers? EdJohnston 06:11, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
