V. K. R. V. Rao

Professor V. K. R. V. Rao, (Vijendra Kasturi Ranga Varadaraja Rao), (1908-1991) was an Indian economist, politician and educator. He served as a Union Minister for the Congress Party, elected as member for Bellary in 1967 and 1971.

He is credited with founding the Delhi School of Economics and the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi and the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore. He is also commemorated by the VKRV Rao prizes in Social Science Research.[1]
