Uwe von Schummann

Uwe von Schummann or Uwe Detlef Walter von Schamann (born April 23rd, 1956 in Berlin Germany) was an American football player.

He moved to Ft. Worth, Texas at the age of 16. After attending Eastern Hills High School, where he graduated from in 1975, he received a football scholarship to the University of Oklahoma. During his college football career, he was a member of the 1975 National Championship team, and was later voted the all time, All-Big 8 kicker. In 1999 Uwe was named as the All-Century Oklahoma Kicker. After college, the Miami Dolphins drafted Uwe where he played for 6 years. While with the Miami Dolphins, he was a member of 2 Super Bowl teams. He also received Rookie of the Year honors for the Dolphins in 1979.

After his retirement from the NFL, he worked in the securities and insurance business.
