Uwajima Castle

Uwajima Castle (宇和島城 uwajimajō?) is a Japanese castle in Uwajima, Ehime, Japan. The other name of this castle is Tsurushima-jo. This castle is well-known as one of the twelve Japanese castles which still have original donjon towers built in Edo Period.

This castle was constructed by Todo Takatora, who is known as a daimyo who had good knowledge and techniques to build castles. This castle experienced major repairs and expansion by Date Munetoshi in 1671.
